14A Halfway Reflection

Image
    1)  Tenaciousness is a competency.  What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?  I think the main behaviors to do for keeping up with this class is staying on top of lectures and completing assignments, cupcakes, and peer reviews days in advance. I like to watch the lecture the same day it is posted so I do not fall behind and can complete the cupcakes earlier. Also, with the assignments I follow a similar schedule where I make sure that they are completed multiple days before the due date. 2)  Tenaciousness is also about attitude.  Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this? One time where I felt like giving up on this class was when on the first assignment, I forgot that the assignments are...

13A Reading Reflection 1

I Chose to read the book Shoe Dog which is an autobiography for Phil Knight. What surprised you the most? The most surprising part to me was how Phil Knight cold called the CEO of a Japanese shoe company and then was able to meet with him and then get distribution rights in Western United States. I do not think many people at such a young age would be confident enough to not only cold call the CEO, but also have a successful meeting with him. I think part of his success at the beginning was also contributed to luck. What about the entrepreneur did you most admire? I most admired Phil Knight’s ability to take risks. He quit his accounting job to sell shoes out of his green Plymouth Valiant car at track meets for the first year. What about the entrepreneur did you  least  admire? I least admired how he did not talk about some of the luck involved with getting the rights to sell the Japanese shoes in Western United States. I think nowadays it is very hard for a y...

12A - Figuring Out Buyer Behavioral NO.1

Interview 1: He needs the product whenever he is trying to organize information in a binder. For example, before meetings when he needs to present the information to a client. Right after he prints the paper, he has the strongest need for this product. He cites the copy room as a place where his need is most salient. He uses google whenever he needs to figure out a problem. For this product he would search hole puncher three-hole reinforcer combo on google. He talks to friends and family members when he has a problem because sometimes, they have more information than he does, and they know him better than a generic google search would. Interview 2: He said that he would have used it a lot in high school because he does not use as many binders now as he used to. He said for work if he is assembling a nice presentation for his boss, he would want it to be presentable and not have any of the holes messed up. The first thing he does when trying to figure out a problem is to de...

11A - Idea Napkin No. 1

1)     You . I am a second-year finance major at the University of Florida in the combined degree MSF program. Many of my talents revolve around the finance industry. I interned last summer with the Irish Mortgage Brokers in Dublin, Ireland and currently have a part-time job with core spaces as an ambassador and am the treasurer for the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity. I aspire to start my career as an investment banker and am not sure what I would like to do after that. If I were to start the business, then my future plan would be very different. I would most likely quit my job and put all my effort into this product because I would not have time to do both. 2)     What are you offering to customers? The product that I am offering customers will solve the problem up three-hole punched papers getting ripped in binders. The process of purchasing reinforcer stickers and placing them on each individual hole is tedious and tiresome. My product will combine ...

9A - Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

Interview 1. a)     Who: he has never heard of the product before, does not think that there are a lot of businesses with a similar product b)     What: he identified efficiency as the need, and he thinks that people who are not in a hurry or are not in a formal capacity c)     Why: yes, because not everyone would find use in this product, some people would rather get a cheaper more simplistic product Interview 2. a)     Who: he said yes, he thinks that staples has hole punchers and I am just combining two products, Michael’s has school supplies b)     What: Effectiveness, he thinks that this product will save a lot of time then manually having to place reinforced stickers on the holes c)     Why: he thinks people that are less organized would be more likely to use it because they have a higher chance of the binder rings ripping the holes Interview 3. a)     Who: m...

8A - Solving the Problem

My selected opportunity is to create a product that combines three-hole punching paper and stick hole protectors on it. The product that I intend to sell to my customers will look similar to a three-hole puncher but will have two levers instead of one. One lever will be for three-hole punching and then the other lever will place the three-hole puncher protectors on it. This will eliminate time wasted on hand placing the stickers and will also save money because two of the steps are combined. I think this product has an opportunity to be very successful because it will be the first of its kind on the market. Also, the range of people that would use this product is very wide. All different ages of people have a need for this, and offices and businesses would also find this product helpful. Overall, I am excited to discuss this product in depth for the rest of the semester.

7A Testing the Hypothesis, Part 1

The opportunity that I am going to pursue is the combined three-hole puncher and hole protectors. There is not a product that allows people to three-hole punch papers and will protect the paper from ripping because of this a product is needed to combine both steps to not only save money but also time. There is an abundance of people who have a need for this product. There is no real boundary for this product because nobody else has created something of this nature and many people are unaware of the need for this product. I believe that anyone will have a need for this product because almost every time someone puts papers into a binder ring one of them is bound to break. Also, this can be used at an industrial level and residential level. Interview 1 -        He said it could be a used product because it combines two steps and would be a lot easier -        A lot of students have a need for this...
