3A - Your Entrepreneurship Story
One time in my life when I was exposed to entrepreneurship was this past summer during my international business class I took while studying abroad. Our final project was to come up with a product or idea that could be used globally. We decided to create a platform similar to yelp, but focusing on bad reviews and companies that were trying to scam you. We experienced the need for this while traveling and wished we would have had prior knowledge of certain customs to have avoided losing money. One of my friends was unaware that while in Europe you have to explicitly state tap water or you will be charged for a bottle of water. It was a fun experience, but when you sit down and really try to think of every angle it is hard. We had to make a presentation for this idea and then respond to many questions about the product. Entrepreneurship requires a lot of creativity and thought, but is an exciting field.
I enrolled in ENT3003 because I have had a little bit of prior experience with entrepreneurship and wanted to take a formal class on the subject. In addition, I have heard from friends that they really enjoyed this class.
Michael,
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted tom study abroad. I believe that traveling around the world has a huge effect on your views on markets and ability to be innovative. Furthermore, when traveling abroad it is very easy to get scammed so your idea to point out the bad reviews sounds like a great idea. The fact that you were able to point out problems like that makes me confident that you are going to excel in this class.
Hi Michael,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy how your group focused on creating a product or idea that can be used globally rather than just nationally. I agree with you that entrepreneurship is concept that takes a lot of creativity and thought to fully understand the true meaning. Not to mention, I too have always been interested in studying abroad. I'm actually about to apply at the end of this semester to a program that goes to Europe, hopefully I get accepted!
